Volunteers are needed to bring refreshments for Sunday Coffee Hour. Plain or fancy, your selection will be much appreciated by your fellow parishioners. July & August Sundays for which volunteers are sought: all July Sundays & all August Sundays.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please send an email to website@emmanuel-boston.org or sign up at any Sunday Coffee Hour.

Emmanuel’s Chapel Choir

Our Chapel Choir is back again this summer, under the direction of Nancy Granert, Emmanuel’s talented organist. Each Sunday at 9:00am choir members rehearse the hymns and anthem for that Sunday’s 10:00am service. Singers of all skill levels are welcome, as are singers interested in participating either occasionally or regularly. If you’re interested, just show up at any rehearsal.

The Stained Glass Window Called “Emmanuel’s Land”

Emmanuel’s major stained glass window portrays a scene from John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress, a scene which has given its name  —  “Emmanuel’s Land”  —  to the window. A number of months ago, the window was removed from its place in the north wall of Emmanuel’s Main Sanctuary, opposite the doors leading to Newbury Street, for much needed repair. We are currently raising funds for repair and restoration. An article, prepared by a member of Emmanuel’s vestry, tells the story of the stained glass window called “Emmanuel’s Land.” (The article opens in a separate browser window.)
