Recent Accomplishments
- Improved lighting in the Chancel. Thanks to the generosity of Emmanuel Music and the Boston Early Music Festival for supporting this work, which was conceived, researched and installed by Julian Bullitt. Old wiring has been replaced and electrical panels for the entire building have been updated.
- Building manual completed. In the process of documenting the mechanical and structural systems of the building, a wide range of issues have been identified. Intricate electrical ciricuits were mapped and forgotten elements of the heating system found.
- Heating & cooling systems refurbished. The ventilation system for removing hot air during the summer was repaired so that the chapel, nave and Parish Hall will be more comfortable and our roof spaces will be protected from rust and rot caused by moist air. Heating ducts were opened to allow warm air to circulate under the Emmanuel's Land Window and the South Balcony.

Lindsey Chapel Restoration
- Bequests in memory of Sam Mygatt have initiated restoration of the chapel's reredos. Nancy Peabody's research led to the British sculptor Simon Verity, who is willing to create three alabster statues to replace those stolen years ago. He can work from the original drawings of Ninian Comper, which were found in the Victoria and Albert Museum by Sam's friend Susie Cleland. The scope of the project includes pointing the rear wall of the chapel and installing a security system in addition to replacing the statues and repairing the paint behind them.
