In September 2007 the Vestry of Emmanuel Church and the Board of Boston Jewish Spirit voted unanimously to sponsor a new organization called Emmanuel Center: An Urban Interfaith Community for Spirituality and the Arts.  Emmanuel Center is a nexus of worship, inquiry, community service and celebration. The newly launched Emmanuel Center website will show programs and events planned for the rest of the summer.

As its programs and projects expand, Emmanuel Center will become active in the maintenance, restoration, and renovation of historic Emmanuel Church, with a view to reimagining the main sanctuary as a flexible worship and performance space.
